Volunteering
Whatever stage in your walk with Christ you should be eager to serve the church. Volunteering is also a great way of making church connections and friendships.
Here's where the challange comes from:
Ephesians 4:12 "Some are called... to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fulness of Christ."
Being prepared in this way, to do works of service, is a very real way in which we can show that we want to and are committed to loving Jesus more. There is no room for lazy Christians, who only seek to be served. The question then is "what are you doing for heaven's sake?" We hope and expect that it is something, and we count it as a sign of growing Christian maturity.
We have many openings for volunteers at RCF, opportunities for you to serve God's people and in so doing to demonstrate your love for Christ and your desire to "attain to the whole measure of the fulness of Christ." A prerequisite for being allowed to lead a ministry is membership, so if you are a regular attender at RCF and are feeling called to serve we would recommend that you enrol on the membership course.
If you are logged on as a member and are looking for an opportunity to bless the church, you can see a list of volunteer vacancies which we would ask you to prayerfully consider; failing that you might want to pragmatically consider them, because even the smallest gesture of 'giving' in this way is always appreciated by the church community.
