Phase IV - Building Report
It hardly seems possible that this time last year the building project was still on the drawing board and we had several weeks of negotiations still to go!
Work started on the 14 February 2011 and were completed on schedule in July; it was a demanding programme of works but the builders did us proud.
A year on and the building is completed and is being well used. What an impact the new buildings have had already! It was always more than just a building project; it was the opportunity to breathe new life into our facility and to spark a whole new generation of ministries both in the church and to our wider community; it’s fantastic to see this already happening.
The official launch day in August was a massive success with our neighbours, representatives from our communities and local dignitaries attending.
This was a “big project” to undertake that took a serious amount of financing, prayers, practical helps and management to make it a reality, but God truly blessed us in every aspect.
- £232,471 was raised for the project
- Over 2200 hours of practical help was volunteered towards the work
The total cost of the project was £236,342 the entire amount financed by the Church without having to borrow a penny from anyone; a remarkable achievement! The chart below details the overall project costs.
Work is still going on behind the scenes. It is evident now the building is in full use, that some minor tweaks are required. The main area under investigation is a system to improve the acoustics of the hall and the Management Team are hopeful a solution will be implemented in the near future.
