RCF Mission to the Philippines 2012 (Scroll to end to see Gallery)
Location: The team will be based in Manila.
Dates
30th June – 14th July 2012 (exact dates are yet TBC).
The work at City Gates is headed up by Pastor Glenn Isaguirre.
Some of the things the team might be involved in are:
- Helping out at City Gates Academy as classroom assistants.
- Medical missions (you don’t have to be a medical professional to help out, as there are lots of jobs you can do, but if you are a medical professional some of your skills may be utilised).
- Saturday clubs & feeding programme.
- Practical work, such as repairs to City Gates Academy, repairs to homes, possibly building a public toilet in the squatter area.
There will also be other opportunities, such as:
- Parent workshops – teaching parents English, basic health care, nutrition, computing etc.
- Schools work – taking assemblies and possibly classes in local secondary schools.
- Getting involved in church services at City Gates.
While in the Philippines you’ll also get the chance to see the sights and experience the culture.
Also included is a two day trip to Boracay, an island in the Philippines, about 200 miles south of Manila.
Cost
There are three options on accommodation:
- Option 1 costs £1,260
- Option 2 costs £1,450
- Option 3 costs £1,495
