A Local Church Within a National Movement

Beginning in Ireland in 1915, under the leadership of evangelist George Jeffreys, Elim was birthed as a dynamic Pentecostal movement dedicated to pioneer evangelism, church planting and Holy Spirit ministry.

Just over one hundred years later, Elim has hundreds of churches in cities, towns and communities throughout the UK and works in over 40 countries around the world. At the core of Elim there are thousands of ordinary people serving God in extraordinary ways.

Elim has had a community of worshipping believers in the town of Rugby for over 80 years, and across the nation and the world for over 100 years.

Those Who Went Before

Rugby Elim Church has a rich spiritual heritage spanning many decades. Formally located on the corner of Windsor Street and Clifton Road, the church was built in 1937 to provide the small congregation a place to worship.

In the 1970's, the church had grown so large that it began to share the facilities of Rugby Methodist Church on Cambridge Street. Within a few years, Rugby Elim bought the church from the Methodists, and is now the home of our offices and facilities.

The Future

In February 2022 we relocated our Sunday gatherings to Harris Academy. This facility gives us more room as we continue to grow and be a Church for every nation and generation. We are so excited for what God has planned for us and are believe the best is yet to come.
